Overview

EMATec 2026 – the International Conference on Emerging Applications of PM and AM Materials and Technologies – is a triennial academic conference organized jointly by Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden and TU Dresden (Dresden University of Technology). The 2026 edition takes place June 2–5 at the Radisson Blu Dresden Radebeul, Germany. The conference brings together leading researchers, engineers, and industry specialists from around the world to discuss cutting-edge developments in powder metallurgy (PM) and additive manufacturing (AM), with a particular focus on sustainable materials and manufacturing technologies relevant to the global energy transition and mobility challenges. The scientific program centers on sub-topics including functional and structural materials for energy technology, hydrogen technology and fuel cell applications, materials for electromobility, sintered and composite materials, and powder-based additive manufacturing processes such as Selective Electron Beam Melting, Fused Filament Fabrication, 3D screen printing, MoldJet, and LMM. Attendees have the opportunity to present their latest research as oral or poster contributions, with accepted papers eligible for publication as peer-reviewed articles on Scientific.Net. This publication pathway makes EMATec particularly attractive for academics and researchers seeking citable outcomes from their conference participation. Fraunhofer IFAM Dresden is one of the world's leading institutes in powder metallurgy, positioning EMATec as an authoritative event within this specialized field. Dresden itself is recognized as a global center of powder metallurgy expertise, and the conference draws international participants from academia, research institutions, and industry partners who seek to bridge applied research with real-world industrial implementation. The event includes dedicated networking opportunities and an accompanying exhibition where companies can showcase their latest products and technologies.
